Laurie Vargas started her career in the financial services industry in 1995, working for Merrill Lynch, Morgan Stanley, and Wachovia Securities (formerly A.G. Edwards & Sons, Inc.). She is Series 7 registered and also has the ability to write life and health insurance. In 2007, the Certified Financial Planner Board of Standards conferred Laurie the prestigious CFP® designation. As a CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™, Laurie works with individual clients and small to medium sized businesses, specializing in comprehensive financial planning used to produce sound and custom investment strategies.

It is Laurie’s goal to provide excellent customer service through long term relationships with exceptional attention to detail.

Laurie has been involved with the local Hispanic community which includes serving on the Denver Hispanic Chamber of Commerce’s Board of Directors, and in 1999 being nominated for the DHCC’s Business Woman of the Year. In 1999, Laurie was appointed to the CU Boulder Hispanic Alumni Association’s Board of Directors. She was also nominated to the national Alumni Association’s Board of Directors and was elected to serve in 2000. Laurie served on the national Board for 8 years, including 2 years as the Board’s Chairman. She was the first Latina to chair the national board! She is still dedicated to CU by serving on various boards and commissions, and has been rumored to bleed black and gold! She lives in Denver and when not reading the Wall Street Journal, loves to run, golf, snowboard, dance, read, travel and cheer on the Buffs at every chance she gets – GO BUFFS!!
